SOLSBERRY — The newly reactivated Eastern Greene Chamber of Commerce didn’t hold officer elections as planned Monday evening, but still got some good news about an effort to bring a new multipurpose center to the school district’s campus.
If built, the facility could potentially include:
* An early childhood education center, where Eastern Greene High School students would assist in teaching 3- and 4-year-olds, much in the way some presently participate in similar programs, both on campus and via travel to Bloomington schools.
* A senior center where activities and aid programs would be based.
* A primary care facility, potentially partnered with a medical provider such as an area hospital or health partnership.
* A meeting place for events such as chamber sessions, which could also potentially be held in the new Eastern Greene School Corp. central offices and boardroom. …<more>
